Leavenworth County Jail Roster
The Leavenworth County Sheriff's Office current inmate roster is the main public lookup for county jail custody. It is free to use and separates current inmates from released records. The roster also supports date, name, current, released, sorting, name search, show-all, and page navigation tools. Search results may include a photo, full name, booking number, age, booking date, listed charges, bond amount and source, and a profile link.
The roster is not a certified court record. The sheriff's disclaimer says inmate information is collected from public sources, maintained for convenience, and cannot be certified for accuracy or authenticity. That warning is practical, not just legal text. Charges may be amended, bond can change after first appearance, and a next court date shown in a booking profile may not be the full docket. Filed charges and final case outcomes belong in District Court or municipal court records, while custody status belongs with detention.
The roster source page shows the current and released custody lists available from the Sheriff's Office.

The roster screenshot supports the county custody lookup route, while the disclaimer source explains why users should confirm active bond and charge details by phone.
The Sheriff's Office inmate roster disclaimer explains the current and released roster limits.

The disclaimer is part of the inmate record workflow because it tells readers not to treat the roster as a certified court or criminal-history source.
Search Leavenworth County Inmates
Use the roster first for county jail custody, then choose a second source only if the person is not there. A person sentenced to Kansas state prison or released to state supervision is searched through the Kansas Department of Corrections, not the county jail. A person in federal custody is searched through the Federal Bureau of Prisons. A case outcome, conviction, dismissal, diversion, or sentence is searched through court records rather than the jail list.
- Open the Sheriff's Office current inmate roster and start with the current-inmate view.
- Use the name search field if the list is long, or sort by booking time to review the newest bookings first.
- Check the current and released filters. The release list is useful when a booking happened recently but no current custody remains.
- Open the profile link for booking number, agency, charges, bond, and next court date when available.
- Call detention at 913-682-5724 before posting bond or relying on a case number, because the profile warning says those details may change.
Note: A jail roster can show custody and charges, but the full case file is a separate court record.
Leavenworth County Roster Fields
The captured roster interface is not a single form with required name fields. It uses tabs, filters, sort links, name search, and pagination. That design lets a user browse the full current list or narrow it. The released-list filter is also important because Leavenworth County's researched roster includes current and recent release paths rather than only people still in custody.
| Field Label | Type | Required | Options / Format Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Name | Tab or link | Optional | Sorts or filters by inmate name. |
| Date | Tab or link | Optional | Lets users view roster data by date sequence. |
| Current | Tab or link | Optional | Shows current Leavenworth County inmates. |
| Released | Tab or link | Optional | Shows recent releases, including the 48-hour release list referenced by the disclaimer. |
| Sort Newest to Oldest | Sort link | Optional | Orders bookings by most recent booking time first. |
| Search By Name | Text | Optional | Name search input was visible, but exact placeholder text was not captured. |
| Show All | Button or link | Optional | Clears a name search and returns to the broader list. |
Leavenworth County Inmate Profile
The researched sample profile was inspected on July 1, 2026. It displayed a header, photo, booking data, demographic fields, arresting agency, booking time, charges, bond, next court date, and a warning note. It did not show height, weight, eye color, hair color, date of birth, housing pod, warrant number, release date, or medical custody details. That absence is useful: the Leavenworth County inmate profile is a custody and court-appearance aid, not a full jail file.
| Field | What It Shows |
|---|---|
| Name display | The profile heading, shown as "UNKNOWN INMATE" in the sample. |
| Booking number | The jail booking identifier, such as 202633745 in the sample. |
| Age, gender, race | Basic public profile descriptors shown by the roster. |
| Arresting agency | The agency listed with the booking, such as Leavenworth Police Department. |
| Booking time | The date and time the person entered the jail booking record. |
| Charges | Statute or code plus a short charge narrative and severity when shown. |
| Bond | Bond status, amount, and source, including no-bond or statute entries. |
| Next court date | The next listed court appearance when the profile has one. |
Important: The profile warns bond companies and people posting bail to call detention for current bail, charges, and case numbers.
Leavenworth County Detention Contact
County detention functions are housed at the same Justice Center complex as District Court, the Sheriff's Office, and the County Attorney. That local layout can be helpful, but it can also confuse record searches. The jail answers custody and bond questions. The District Court answers public case-record questions. The County Attorney handles prosecution and diversion questions. The sheriff KORA process handles sheriff records where release is allowed.

The detention page is the best local source for jail contact context when roster information is incomplete or time-sensitive.
Leavenworth County Custody Sources
VINE is the notification route for county custody changes. The Sheriff's Office says the jail sends inmate data to VINE, and users may register through VINELink, call 1-866-277-7477, use TTY 1-866-847-1298, or use the VINELink app. VINE can notify when someone is booked or released. It does not give Kansas court date or court outcome notifications because Kansas courts do not participate for those events.
Use the Kansas Department of Corrections for sentenced state-prison inmates and supervised offenders after transfer from county jail. Use the Federal Bureau of Prisons inmate locator for federal custody. Leavenworth County has local, state, and federal custody systems nearby, so a missing county roster result should be treated as a routing question, not proof that no custody record exists.
| Source | Best Use | Limit |
|---|---|---|
| Sheriff roster | Current county inmates and recent releases | Not a certified court record. |
| VINE | Custody booking and release notifications | No Kansas court-date or case-outcome notices. |
| Kansas DOC | State prison or supervised offender search | Not for local jail pretrial custody. |
| Federal BOP | Federal inmate location | Not for Leavenworth County jail bookings. |
Mail Money and Commissary
The jail uses TextBehind for inmate mail. Mail must be addressed with the offender's first and last name and inmate ID number, then sent to Leavenworth County Sheriff's Office, P.O. Box 247, Phoenix, MD 21131. Sender return information must include first and last name and a complete return address. After facility review, mail takes about 24 hours before it reaches the inmate. Nonprivileged mail is scanned, stored for up to 30 days, and then shredded securely.
TextBehind does not accept legal mail, money orders, personal checks, cash, gift cards, debit cards, credit cards, Social Security cards, driver's licenses, books, magazines, catalogs, advertising, or junk mail. Money orders must be sent instead to 601 S. 3rd Street, Attn: Jail Clerk, Leavenworth, KS 66048. Funds may also be placed through jailATM or at the front kiosk in the Justice Center. The jail does not accept outside care packages purchased through commissary.
The official detention FAQ gives the local mail, bond, video, and phone rules.

The FAQ source is needed because Leavenworth County mail goes through Maryland for TextBehind, while money orders route to the Kansas jail clerk.
The jail also links users to jailATM deposits for inmate account funds.

JailATM is the account-funding route, but commissary purchases still depend on jail rules and the inmate's account access.
Leavenworth County Inmate Visitation
Leavenworth County uses HomeWAV for video visits. Free on-site lobby kiosk visits run on weekdays, excluding holidays, while remote video runs seven days a week at the visitor's expense. Visitors schedule through HomeWAV.com, the HomeWAV mobile app, or HomeWAV support. A green available time must be selected, the inmate must confirm or reject the visit, and confirmation follows after scheduling.
| Service | Schedule / Cost | Instructions |
|---|---|---|
| On-site video visitation | Free lobby kiosks 0800-1630 Monday-Friday, excluding holidays | Schedule through HomeWAV and wait for inmate confirmation. |
| Remote video visitation | 0800-2100 seven days a week, at visitor expense | Create an account, select the facility and inmate, add funds, and wait for the inmate call. |
| Visitor support | 844-394-6639 | HomeWAV support line for visitor account issues. |
| Voice calls | $0.20 per minute | Deducted from inmate account unless the recipient creates a communication account. |
| Video calls | $0.25 per minute | Handled through HomeWAV. |
| Messages | $0.25 per message | HomeWAV message service. |
Attorney visitation was not separately captured in the public FAQ. Attorneys should contact the jail for current professional visit rules instead of using public video-visit assumptions.
Inmate Records and Sheriff KORA
When a jail roster is not enough, the Sheriff's Office has its own Kansas Open Records Act route. Written requests may be made in person or by mail to 601 S. 3rd Street, Suite 2007, or through the sheriff's online request process. The sheriff KORA FAQ also lists exceptions. Criminal investigation records, criminal intelligence, sexual-offense victim identity, medical records, personnel records, suspicious activity reports, and much body or dash camera video can be closed or limited.
The official sheriff app is another county source. The Google Play listing for "Leavenworth County KS Sheriff" advertises contact messages, notifications, press releases, inmate details, booking information, and more. The research did not prove an app-only lookup, but it confirms that inmate and booking information is available through the sheriff's mobile channel in addition to the website.
The Sheriff's Office KORA FAQ explains request methods and law-enforcement exceptions.

KORA can help with releasable sheriff records, but it does not override sealed court records or restricted investigative material.
